BMTC’s Big-10 services are the backbone of Bengaluru’s high-frequency bus network. Launched in 2009, Big-10 routes ply 12 major arterial corridors with distinctive blue-and-orange buses, limited stops and 5-10 minute frequency during peak hours. This guide lists all Big-10 routes, explains the colour-coded system and shows you how to use Big-10 for fast cross-city travel.

What Is Big-10?

Big-10 (Big Ten) is a premium limited-stop service on 12 of Bengaluru’s busiest arterial roads. The routes are prefixed with G- and use blue-and-orange livery for easy identification. Big-10 buses stop only at major intersections, allowing them to cover long corridors faster than ordinary buses.

  • G-2: Mysuru Road — Majestic to Kengeri.
  • G-3: Hosur Road — Majestic to Electronic City Wipro.

  • G-12: Hennur — Majestic to Hennur/Bagalur.

Why Use Big-10?

Big-10 is the fastest way to travel along any of the 12 corridors during peak hours. With 5-10 minute frequency and limited stops, a Big-10 bus can save 15-30 minutes compared to an ordinary bus on the same corridor.

How to Identify a Big-10 Bus

Big-10 buses are painted in a distinctive blue and orange livery with ‘Big-10’ branding on the side. The electronic destination board shows the route number prefixed with ‘G-‘.

Big-10 Pass and Payment

Big-10 accepts cash, Smart Card, Namma Metro open-loop card and UPI via Namma BMTC app. The ordinary daily pass is NOT valid on Big-10 — you need the Big-10/Volvo daily pass (₹120) or a separate cash/UPI payment.
